Skip the jeweler and go straight to the setter! No longer will you have to spend the time or effort a bench jeweler would normally have to pre-polish unfinished findings! Purchasing a Ross Metals product holds its weight and value, meanwhile other suppliers sell settings that need to be polished and have its sprue removed which will cost you time and money because during this process a piece will, on average, lose ~15% of its weight during assembly.
(For example, purchasing a 1.5 gram setting from another supplier will net you a ~1.25 gram piece when it is finally finished. So, you are paying for an extra ~0.25 grams for gold that will be lost to your jeweler’s bench.)
